Enter the unforgettable world of New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Laurens, creator of the phenomenal Cynster family. This amazing clan -- and their friends -- is a bold, powerful group of men who let nothing stand in their way when it comes to matters of the heart. And in this, Stephanie Laurens's newest novel, a passionate man and a daring woman confront the ultimate question. . . .
What Price Love?
There is nothing more fascinating than a darkly handsome rake, especially one as controlled and elusive as Dillon Caxton, protégé of Demon Cynster. Despite his dangerous air, Dillon is a man of sterling reputation, but it wasn't always so. Years ago, an illicit scheme turned into a nefarious swindle, and only the help of his cousin, Felicity, and her husband, Demon, saved Dillon from ruin. Now impeccably honest, he guards his hard-won reputation and is the Keeper of the Register of all racing horses in England. His standing and aloofness make Dillon undeniably desirable to young ladies, but despite all the lures thrown his way, he remains uninterested -- his attention unfixed.
Until ""Miss Priscilla Dalling"" erupts into his life. A stunning beauty, she affects Dillon as no other ever has, but what fascinates him even more is that this tempting young lady is clearly desperate, and equally clearly lying about wanting to see the Register to fulfill the whim of an eccentric aunt.
Lady Priscilla Dalloway will do anything to see what's in the Register -- even lie! Her twin brother, Russell, who had fought with their father and left the family home to work with the finest racehorses, has disappeared. Pris knows that clues to his whereabouts can be found in the tome Dillon Caxton refuses to let her see.
She unleashes her feminine wiles on Dillon -- to no avail. But Dillon is now determined to learn the truth behind her quest. Exploiting the powerful attraction that flares between them, he succeeds in convincing Pris to tell him all, to trust him with her twin's life. Together, Dillon and Pris locate Rus, only to discover that his life is being threatened by the perpetrators of a massive betting swindle.
The time is ripe for Dillon to repay old debts by helping another as he himself was helped. Assisted by Demon, Felicity, and Barnaby Adair, Dillon and Pris embark on a journey riddled with danger -- and undeniable passion -- as they seek to overturn the swindle and expose Rus's deadly enemies. And along the way they discover the answer to that age-old question: What price love?

TERRIBLE.......2007-06-29
This is the first book that I actually returned. I could not get past the boring racing setup and the fact that these two conceited people only have eyes for each other...because they are both so very beautiful. I couldnt get past the first chapter. Yuk!
What Price Love? Do negative integers count?.......2007-06-12
I was rather surprised by the reviewers who stated they didn't care for the horse racing aspect of this book. I found that angle to be blessed relief from the overly-narcissitic protagonists Priscilla and Dillon.
Barely 1/4 of the way into the book we read Priscilla's thought: "The last thing I need is to grow infatuated with a damned Englishman, especially one who's more handsome than I am." But long before this page the reader is treated to a number of other examples of how poor Pris and Dillon are burdened by their extraordinary good looks. Was Ms. Laurens trying to garner sympathy for these folks or just give the reader a good laugh? (Neither worked for me.)
It feels as though Ms. Laurens decided to throw some not very interesting people together within a lackluster plot and then, as if to make up for the former, added some well-researched horse racing information. The result is a very odd combination.
I put this book in the "donate" pile before I even finished chapter six. I have enjoyed other books by Ms. Laurens but this one just wasn't worth my time.
300 pages too long!.......2007-05-23
This is the first book I haven't read through to the end. I kept putting it down until I just read the middle of what was left and the end. Too much equine racing info and too much sex. The first time they had sex was about a third into the book. What happened w/ the anticipation? w/ the going crazy from wanting to have and not getting... Agh, this book was so boring and dissapointing...
Another can't put down EXCELLENT read !.......2007-03-28
I Have never been disappointed with anything Stephanie Laurens, writes. She is one of my favorite authors.
I love reading the Cynster novels and their adventures .
I cannot wait for the next book !
Are you kidding?.......2007-03-22
Poor poor Pris and Dillon - they are bogged down by the weight of their own extraordinary beauty and their "wild and reckless" -- someone should actually count just how many times that phrase appears in the book -- natures. The entire population of England AND Ireland wants them and they are excessively bored by it all...until they meet each other, that is. At last, they've each found something stimulating, but the trade-off is that WE are the ones who have to be bored for the rest of the novel. There's a convoluted and stupid subplot about horse racing featuring a mysterious supervillain who doesn't actually make an appearance until the last fifty pages, just in time for him to threaten the well-being of our dramatically alluring heroine so our hero can save her. And, not to give it away or anything, but save her he does, although by that point you'll probably be wishing he'd been a fraction too late in your haste to be rid of these characters and their cliche psychoses.
Skip it.

Three Southern settings, three unique adventures, three complete bestsellers make up this one satisfying volume.
When a plane crash leaves her disfigured beyond recognition, TV reporter Avery Daniels finds herself in the hospital, mistaken for a selfish Texas socialite, the wife of a famous senatorial candidate. Initially unable to communicate, Avery is given plastic surgery that makes her "good as new." Stripped of her identity and completely vulnerable, she learns of an insider's plot to assassinate her "husband"--and she's supposedly in on it. Reporter's instincts may be the initial reason for keeping up the charade, but soon other instincts kick in and Avery finds herself trapped in a world of power, politics, lies, and lust. Mirror Image is full-speed from the start, and doesn't ease up until the final, dramatic showdown.
"Before I'm finished, I'm going to know which one of you killed my mother," proclaims Alexandra Gaither, a striking young attorney out for revenge. Ignited by the cryptic words of her ailing grandmother, Alex storms into a dusty Texas town like a hired gun and reopens the 25-year-old murder case she's not even old enough to remember. Best Kept Secrets takes on the big business of small-town politics. Confronting the three most powerful men in the community, Alex attempts to find the flaw in their carefully constructed history. She's ready for almost every possible complication, every hidden danger except this: her growing desire for one of the prime murder suspects.

Always a happy ending.......2007-07-18
I enjoyed knowing that these love stories would always have a happy ending. This would be a wonderful relaxing read for the beach.
Not good at all.......2007-07-07
I normally like Sandra Brown's books, however this book of three novels must been very early work. It is so terrible I gave up in disgust and did not finish the last novel. I regret purchasing it.
Get it..it's great!!.......2005-01-21
I happened across this book in a used book store. I'm a fan of Sandra Brown, although I don't cut her any slack when I read one that isn't what I expected. Let's face it, we have to tell it like it really is. But all three of the stories in this one book happen to be some of Sandra's very best writing. Do yourself a favor and get it. I thought it was greeeaaatttttttt!!!!
Liked the first 2, the other was so-so.......2003-04-09
The 1992 edition of this book is riddled with spelling errors and poor punctuation. I found 10 errors alone in SHH. I enjoyed the first 2 novels. I like the mystery aspect of both. The third, SHH was sub-par. I lost interest half-way through. A great bargain overall. Smaller print than most hardcovers.
Sandra Brown is a literaray genius.......2002-01-29
I do not understand where all these bad reviews are coming form, I am a huge Sandra Brown fan, and I think that three stories in one was the perfect idea, by the time I have finished one, I'm ready to go to read all Sandra Browns books, and best kept secrets was one of my favorites, as for some of the other reviews, Sandra Brown writes fiction novels, so they are based soley on the creativity she finds within herself, and I think that she has done a dam good job at keeping us all entertain. No matter what she writes she does it in a way where I can not put the book down!

Book Description
A New York Times Notable Book and a
San Jose Mercury News Top 20 Nonfiction Book of 2003
In 1606, approximately 105 British colonists sailed to America, seeking gold and a trade route to the Pacific. Instead, they found disease, hunger, and hostile natives. Ill prepared for such hardship, the men responded with incompetence and infighting; only the leadership of Captain John Smith averted doom for the first permanent English settlement in the New World.
The Jamestown colony is one of the great survival stories of American history, and this book brings it fully to life for the first time. Drawing on extensive original documents, David A. Price paints intimate portraits of the major figures from the formidable monarch Chief Powhatan, to the resourceful but unpopular leader John Smith, to the spirited Pocahontas, who twice saved Smith’s life. He also gives a rare balanced view of relations between the settlers and the natives and debunks popular myths about the colony. This is a superb work of history, reminding us of the horrors and heroism that marked the dawning of our nation.

Nicely paced read...I learned a lot and enjoyed it.......2007-07-10
I really enjoyed this work and enjoyed its pacing and the way the author weaved the historical narrative with the characters and the sense of timeline. A great overview of the period and I would recommend this one. A well balanced book to help the reader understand the period and how things were viewed. In fact I was anxious to see if I could get other books by this author!
Timely read! Made me want to visit Jamestown again!.......2007-05-07
Easy read. Couldn't imagine how I missed some of these details in US History, but nonetheless so glad I picked it up - could not put it down.
What a great read, please tell us more of Smith's earlier story.......2007-04-12
Love and Hate in Jamestown is a very enjoyable and very readable antidote to the usual Pocahontas nonsense cooked up by disney and more recently presented in the new world. Chock full of well researched facts and anecdotes about this remarkable chapter in America's history. Price's accounts about John Smith's life before he came to Virginia sounds at least as fascinating as what he achieved once he was in Virginia. He stands as one of the archetypes of the early Americans, combining all of those qualities good and bad, which have ultimately defined us as a people.
Good, readable popular history, but with a doozy of a mistake.......2007-04-05
Smoothly written and, for the most part, well edited, this is probably a fine introduction to the history of the Virginia colony in the early 17th century.
There are two flaws, one minor and one major. First, the author (or, more likely, the editors) sometimes dumbs down too much (e.g., he takes a paragraph to explain what "trade winds" are, and defines "longitude"--readers would either know about these already or have a dictionary at hand). Second, the book's one map of eastern Virginia has an inexcusable error: Jamestown is shown to be in the area of modern-day Fort Eustis, about 10 miles east of where it really was! This is equivalent to publishing an account of the New Netherlands with a map showing New Amsterdam in the Bronx, or one of the New England Puritans that has them siting Boston where Newton is. I hope this was noticed and fixed for the paperback and other editions.
Engaging.......2007-01-20
I really enjoyed reading this book. I found myself anxious to get home to read it every night. Price was very informative and his writing flowed nicely. My wife and I look forward to our trip to Jamestown for the 400th anniversary.

This book is definitely worth buying. It is loaded with good information and has pages and pages of specific references (particularly cyber for those who love to spend time on computer). Life your Life Review.......2007-08-13
Bought this book look for a few financial tidbits we might be missing and there was probably enough to make it worthwhile. A lot of basics and tried and true methods are repeated in this book and just reemphasize that we are doing things 'right.' I like repeating these to my kids as we travel. If we are willing to do a little more work, could save a bit more money with some of her suggestions. I also have to chuckle at the repeated sales pitches in the book for newsletters and templates to help you save money...Overall, a good quick read that can save you some dough.

This is a great book to those new to frugal living and has a few hints for the "oldtimers".

Mary Hunt is the Real Deal. She's been "there" and back, and is sharing all that she learned along the way. Any book by Mary Hunt is worth the read- she will illuminate the way to living within your means. Most importantly, Mary doesn't believe that it will be easy or magical- but it will change your life. Thank you, Mary- You're the best!

ASIN: 0802136915 |
Amazon.com
Very few writers have the prescience or audacity to produce one of the standard works of their era--not a classic, necessarily, but a book that defines its own cultural moment in startling new terms, like One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest or Portnoy's Complaint. Activist and rabble-rouser Larry Kramer has the distinction of having written not only one of the earliest and best-known plays on AIDS, The Normal Heart, but also the astonishing satire of gay urban sexual mores Faggots, perhaps the most reviled novel in the gay literary canon. A grim, graphic expansion on John Rechy's Numbers, which chronicled a hustler's soulless game of sexual conquest, Kramer's pornopticon turns off many readers by about page 3, when its hero, the screenwriter Fred Lemish, is offered an array of dubious pleasures in a private room at the infamous Everard Baths in New York. What Lemish really wants, of course, is true love, preferably from his elusive boyfriend, Dinky Adams. But as long as he's in the room...
Celebrated and excoriated when it first appeared in 1978, this reprint of a gay anticlassic is not for the faint of heart. For the rest of us, it is a harsh, fascinating, and somewhat eerie revisitation of the carnal excesses of a generation that couldn't hear the bell tolling over the disco beat.
Book Description
Larry Kramer's Faggots has been in print since its original publication in 1978 and has become one of the best-selling novels about gay life ever written. The book is a fierce satire of the gay ghetto and a touching story of one man's desperate search for love there, and reading it today is a fascinating look at how much, and how little, has changed.
Customer Reviews:
Is This How It Was?.......2007-05-07
Kramer, Larry. "Faggots", Grove Press Reprint, 2000.
Is This How It Was?
Amos Lassen and Literary Pride
When "Faggots" by Larry Kramer first appeared in 1978 people were up in arms. Some did not understand that what Kramer had written was a satire of gay life in New York City. Some felt he had written an expose of some of the seediest aspects of gay life when it reality it was a touching tale of one man's search for love and quite a desperate search at that. In the 70's and early 80's the book was hailed as genius one hand and excoriated on the other. It is brutal and erotic and harsh and fascinating as it deals with the sexual excesses of the period. Looking back at it now, after a careful rereading, it is a look at how much and how little times have changed. The sex is graphic and not for the squeamish (perhaps that is why I look so much).
Fred Lemish at 39 is in great physical shape and is ready to find Mr. Wonderful and settle down. He cruises everywhere looking for his Mr. Right in all of the wrong places. He has told the man that he is dating that he is in love with him and is waiting for him to answer. But while he waits, Fred takes us to all of the hot spots of gay night life, the bathhouse, the club openings, the summer parties on Fire Island. While he agonizes over his boyfriend, he is out having random sexual encounters and his friends are living in drugged out stupors.
Kramer gives us a New York that is one big party-sexy, wild and glamorous and excessive. It is a look at gay life that spares no one and nothing and the truth and honesty hit very hard--especially to those that lived like this. Kramer has written a moral satire and sadly his unwritten predictions came true with the AIDS epidemic--the music stopped, we calmed down, the bathhouses closed and we kept quiet for a while. The book hits close to home, in fact it is a bull eye's target hit. And it is funny--laugh at loud funny. It is also a novel of great courage--it is his bravery that allowed Kramer to pull everything out of the closet and slam the door behind him. He liberated gay sexuality in this book and because of that he paved the way for a more serious look at the way we live. How can anyone revile Kramer? He was simply a prophet--a man way ahead of his time. He documented an era in a wonderful social parody. This is a book that had to be written and Kramer gives us an undaunted look at the way we lived. Kramer begs for justice and love as he looks at the gay ghetto--a self-imposed area of gyms, sex clubs, and partner swapping. He has written the book that helped bring about our liberation and Kramer had the courage to write about it. "Faggots" is a book of major importance both historically and culturally and he changed the way America looked at gay men. His sense of unease with the way things were--promiscuity, drug use and sadomasochism is a look at the gay community that was needed.
"Faggots" has not gone out of print since its original publication and has remained a best seller. It is an assault on the mind and as Kramer's characters indulge in every excess, it is not for the faint of heart. The irreconcilable pursuit of sex is the theme and the action is plentiful. In the 350 pages of the book we find a kaleidoscopic vision of gay life and this is a book not to be missed--many characters, many locales and a lot of sex--could you ask for anything more?
How it was?.......2006-06-15
How to sum up such an assault on the eyes and mind as this book? Certainly, it's not for the prudish or faint-hearted, as Kramer's mass of gay characters indulge themselves in sex and drugs in 1970s New York. The descriptions leave little to the imagination. If ever you wondered what the seamier side of gay life is like, well here it is. Or, it might better be said "there it was" if things have really altered, given that the intervention of the AIDS epidemic separates Kramer's novel from today.
That I suppose is the main nature of the legacy of the book: has the nature of gay men (rather than specific protective behaviour to reduce the risk of infection by HIV) really changed? Does what Kramer described typify gay attitudes, either then or now? The book targets the irreconcilable pursuit of sex (really as an addiction) with the wish to find a stable loving relationship. Actions compromise the wishes and hopes. Each of the characters is a hopeless sexual addict, seemingly doomed to an increasingly frustrated existence as they age - and all can see that coming but are powerless to alter their ways.
I can't believe that this picture is typical of all gay men, mainly because it is a stereotypical view of a varied "community", but not least because sex so freely available is utterly meaningless and boring - as the novel really illustrates. Nor, by the way, should anyone think that weird perversity is the sole reserve of gays! Rather, it seemed to me that the book was a critque of part of the gay world, the loudest but also the shallowest.
As a read, it is an assault, there is an avalanche of characters, and it somewhat loses its steam and impact in the last third (almost inevitable given its high-octane start). Interesting though both as a period piece and perhaps as a not entirely irrelevant picture of today.
By the way, I plead the 5th completely regarding the intimate details of this review!
G Rodgers
Unscruplously Sexy and Liberating.......2005-11-20
What an amazing journey Larry Kramer takes us on with this book. He takes us back to a time long gone but never forgotten. One of the most imporant books in gay literature.
Tricks Are For Kids.......2005-02-22
First published in 1978, Larry Kramer's controversial novel FAGGOTS offers the story of Fred Lemish, four days short of his 40th birthday, determined to find true love and on an odyssey through the bars, clubs, baths, and various orgy rooms that catered to gay New Yorkers during that period. The result is a kaleidoscopic vision of the era, a novel that swirls with many characters, many locales, and as many sexual activities as can be crammed into its 350 plus pages.
The novel is, in theory, a satirical condemnation of the lifestyle it displays--but Kramer makes a very fundamental mistake. He tends to assume that this sexual hedonism is the norm for gay men. He also creates a cast of characters who lack the inner resources to create any viable alternative to it. Consequently, the novel reads rather like a cleft stick: Kramer condemns his characters for failing to escape from what he essentially posits as an escape-proof trap.
That is a tremendous flaw, but it is hardly the only one. With relatively few exceptions, the characters are shallow--and while that is part of the point of the novel, it also makes it very difficult to think of them as anything more than names on the page. As a result, you tend to read the novel less for story than in order to see what unexpected sexual acrobatics might be described next. And that's the hallmark of pornography plain and simple. It becomes very, very difficult to accept the book as the serious work of fiction that it proclaims itself to be.
There is a tendency now to look upon FAGGOTS as a portent of the AIDS epidemic--and certainly it does give you a very good idea of how easily the disease was spread within gay subcultures like the one Kramer describes. But it is worth pointing out that Kramer was as oblivious to the impending disaster as everyone else, and whatever merit the novel may have as prophecy arises only in hindsight. Ultimately, this is a novel that will most interest gay men who either recall this sort of subculture from direct experience or those who wish they did. It is readable, but it is hardly original (Vidal beat Kramer to the punch by some thirty years and Rechy by close to twenty), and while it is reasonably well-written for what it is ... what it is isn't much. Recommended as a curiosity only.
GFT, Amazon Reviewer
Unbridled Genius. One of the best .......2004-12-19
It is as if James Joyce were alive and queer in 1973 New York. Kramer is an author, dramatist and activist who helped found Act-Up. In this harsh, funny, terrifying, graphic, pornographic, brilliant, compelling book, he both honors and skewers the "gay scene" of the early '70s.
This book is simply required (though at times difficult) reading.

THE BRIDE PRICE.......2006-10-13
The Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta, conclusively provides a story for one of the mose entrenched igbo tradition, the bride price. As a female from Igboland, i am quite aware of the enormous significance of that custom and the concequences it has for any female who chooses to neglect or abandon it. Indeed Emecheta's story draws you in from inception and allows you to be a part of the protagonist's story. At the end of the story, you feel as if returning from a great cultural expedition and you are immensley disconcerted about the power of superstitions and of customs on situated individuals. Emecheta deserves all the credit for telling this powerful story with both unbridled style and grace.
This book is soooo good!.......2003-05-11
I loved this book so much. I cried at the end. I read the end over and over again. It was soooooo beautiful. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to indulge in a romance and learn about another culture. This is the first book i have read by Ms. Emecheta and I hope to read many more.
The Bride Price.......2000-11-10
The Bride Price is both an easy and enlightening read. Buchi Emecheta deftly captures the girl's adolescent fragility and power as she struggles to carve out her identity amongst the dictates of patriarchy, which her mother upholds to the point of betraying her own vulnerable daughter. ...
"The Bride Price" my thoughts..........2000-04-20
The Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta is an insightful novel into the life of the Ibo people of Nigeria. Although the novel made me angry when I read it, I enjoyed the novels historical correctness whether I like it or not this is the way women were treated at this point in time. This novel gave me a wake up call as to how far things have come sense this time. No longer are we objects to be inherited by our dead brothers relatives or destine to marry who our small town chooses for us whether we love then or not. The story I think would have had a much better ending if Aku-nna could have made it. So that she could prove her culture's old superstitions wrong. All in all, I would recommend this book to any one that would enjoy a good story. Also it is a quick read, the novel keeps you entertained by the use of vivid images and a direct story line to follow so no one can get lost. This novel is similar in nature to Things Fall Apart which has one character names Oknkowo which is also used in the Bride price, this might suggest that he was a real man from that culture.

Book Description
Queenisha Renae claims that she takes no mess from no man-that is until she meets Zeke Washington, a handsome Denzel Washington look-alike, at a charity fundraiser-and buys him lock, stock, and barrel for one night. Determined to get her money's worth, Queenie approaches their first date with one goal in mind: to make Zeke her one and only man, no matter what the cost. With the help of her best friend, Poetta, who schemes to put a 'voodoo hex' on Zeke to help lure him in, Queenie gets more than she bargained for when she meets Zeke's highly unusual roommate, Sweet Willie. In the meantime, she is being relentlessly pursued by co-worker Raymondo Carlos Castillo Morales-a man she wants no part of, even if he was the last man walking the earth. And Poetta has problems of her own when the married man she's in love with suddenly drops dead from a love spell gone wrong. The High Price of a Good Man is a hilarious and unexpectedly touching story about two women's misadventures in love.

Looking For Love in all the Wrong Places.......2005-05-17
Queenie is far from insecure. She'll let you know that not even her plus size frame can make her vulnerable to no good men. She loves herself. All 6 feet of herself! She has no problem with turning the heads of men. She just wishes she can find a man of her own.
The Queen encounters Zeke Washington and fights to make him hers. She tries to change herself inside and out, even listens to her best friend Poetta's advice on throwing in a voodoo love charm.
Raymo starts a war of his own. He fights to make the Queen his forever. He loves Queenie just the way she is. His only problem is being too short, so she thinks, along with being a pest!
The High Price of A Good Man is another "looking for love in all the wrong places" read. We give all we have to man who can't accept us for who we are, while the true men of our dreams pass us right on by.
Still, with the many twists and turns, and the surprise Raymo has in store, makes The High Price of A good Man a delightful, sassy, fun read.

You'll never know where you'll find true love........2004-06-08
This book is hysterically funny. It had me laughing out loud on the New York subway. Especially the parts where Queen interacts with her co-worker Raymo and her dates roommate, "Sweet Willie". Where does Debra come up with this stuff? If you're looking for a good read, I highly recommend this book.

Lord Why Do I Always Get the Wrong Man.......2004-03-18
Queenisha Renae Sutton is a full-figured diva, large and in charge, and she doesn't care who knows it!! Queenie begins this book by saying, "First of all, just for the record, I love me some me." Her infectious sass and go-getter attitude sparkle throughout the book.
Queenie has two constants in her life--her best friend Poetta James, a "candle-burning, incantation chanting" sister, whose specialty is "the beautification of hair;" and Raymundo Carlos Morales Castillo, or "Raymo", the male buyer at Macy's, where Queenie works. Not only is Raymo Queenie's male counterpart, he is hopelessly in love with her, and goes out of his way to show her his affection. Unfortunately Miss Queenie persists in degrading and embarrassing the man as much as possible without putting her job in jeopardy. Raymo reminds Queenie too much of Monroe, her first Latin lover, the man who broke her heart.
Into every diva's life an obstacle must fall--Queenie's obstacle comes in the form of a man by the name of Ezekiel "Zeke" Washington. Zeke is a Denzel Washington look-alike up for auction at an AIDS Date-a-thon, which Queenie attends after being pressured by Poetta. After paying over $1200 to date Zeke for one night, Queenie comes up with several elaborate schemes to persuade Zeke that she is the woman he needs. Zeke's only concern is Queenie's size. He even gives her "herbal pills" to assist her in losing weight. Not only does Queenie begin to lose weight; she also loses her self-esteem in her quest to make Zeke her man. Her stunts range from amusing to outrageous, but the reader will feel Queenie's pain.
Debra Phillips weaves a wonderful story in The High Price of a Good Man. When I first began to read it, I immediately thought "ghetto fiction", however, at its conclusion, I deemed it a very good story, filled with drama and comedy; with just enough "ghetto flavor" to keep it interesting to the younger reader, yet not turn off older readers. I must add that I especially loved the poem on the dedication page. It's touching and sweet.

Entertaining, witty, and honest........2003-12-29
I really liked "The High Price of a Good Man." It was a little wordy and slow reading in the beginning but once we met Sweet Willie things picked up. Women "big or small" can appreciate the humor and camaraderie between these characters. I found the story entertaining and the situations painfully true. I admire the honesty, the wit and humor applied to the topics of friendship, love, self-esteem, and weight. We have to love ourselves before we can love anyone else!
Love don't cost a thang.......2003-12-17
Hats off to Debra what a funny and enjoyable book. The book was a wonderful story that kept the reader wanting more, never a dull moment. The story will make you laugh out loud a must buy if you want a good funny book about two friends and their crazy love connections. Love will make you do strange things. Can't wait for your next novel this one was great.

Book Description
Once upon a time, Martians and Venusians met, fell in love, and had happy relationships together because they respected and accepted their differences. Then they came to Earth and amnesia set in: they forgot they were from different planets.
Using this metaphor to illustrate the commonly occurring conflicts between men and women, Dr. John Gray explains how these differences can come between the sexes and prohibit mutually fulfilling, loving relationships. Based on years of successful counseling of couples and individuals, he gives advice on how to counteract these differences in communication styles, emotional needs and modes of behavior to promote a greater understanding between individual partners.
Now available in its complete, unabridged form, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus is an invaluable tool for developing deeper and more satisfying relationships.

Soular Power - Attraction Rather than Promotion.......2006-07-18
Get ready for life-long true love and have the patience to wait as long as it takes. Only your twin flame will never let you down or leave you for another or make you second to a previous partner's memory. So ... here is the journey of spiritual maturity and consciousness that will make you attuned to your soul and poised to meet the one and only who is the other side to your soul.
about soulmates and twin flames.......2004-02-17
I think this book is accurate in that it differentiates between 'twin flames' and 'soulmates'. Many books confuse a 'soulmate' with 'twin flame', but they are two different concepts. We all have many soulmates but only one twin flame, and yes, you may not meet your twin flame in this particular lifetime on earth. I myself thought the whole idea of twin flames was dubious until I met mine and only THEN became interested in the topic and really understood it due to having had the visceral experience. I think the books about twin flames really only serve you when you've already met yours, or at least if you really feel connected to the topic. Usually I have found that if it's not on your path to meet your twin flame in this particular incarnation, you're more drawn to the idea of soulmates rather than twin flames. The thing that we really desire is the next step on our path, whether it's a soulmate or a twin flame. This book is really good for both those who want to know more about soulmates and/or about twin flames. Also, speaking from my experience, I don't think you have to be enlightened or superhuman to have the experience of meeting your twin flame. I myself am spiritually conscious and my channel to spirit is open but I am hardly the epitome of enlightenment and I've met mine. It just depends on what's on your path and for your higher good at this time.
Soular Reunion Journey to the Beloved John & Diadra Price.......2003-09-05
This book was exactly what I was looking for. Anyone who reads this book was led to it by a higher power. This book answered so many questions and even raised a few more. I finally found a book to give me knowledge and enlighten me on this deep and intriguing subject. If you are at this level of asking you will appreciate this book. It is more of a question and answer and informational guide. It validates much of what I was confused about.
Twin Souls & Self Mastery.......2000-10-06
This book will not appeal to the lonely heart crowd looking for a quick fix, but I liked the book very much because it tells the truth, meeting and recogizing your twin flame demands a certain level of spiritual maturity and inner work. Your twin soul will not come into your life to fix you or to be fixed. Getting through life first requires self mastery! This is hard work and may not appeal to the masses. Everyone is looking for a quick fix, your twin soul is not it and either is this book. This book offers a lot of truth and practical applications. For serious seekers only.
