When you're stuck, this helps get you unstuck. The cards force you to change your train of thought - helpful for when you can't seem to think of anything new. I write a lot of press releases on somewhat mundane and repetitive topics, and the whack pack has inspired some new ideas and made the task less tedious.

It's amazing that this product gets five straight stars from all the reviewers. Nothing is worth a perfect score like that, but this product does. This is truly an amazing product. I used these cards all the time (well, maybe not all the time, but when I need a little boost of creativity, these cards really help.) I've had these cards in my arsenal for over ten years. I have not lost a card yet.
The author asks you to challenge the rules and ask questions. As President and Creative Director of a highly creative web design company called AUDIN Web Design, these cards resonate deeply in my creativity. These cards are rule breakers.

I think everyone should have a pack of this cards because everyone sometimes feels stuck with a problem to the point that he is unaware of other possible solutions. The ideas in this pack help to look at the perplexing issue from many different perspectives. Sooner or later one may see the light, an open door, most likely many, many doors leading to numerous possible solutions. These cards are a valuable tool for brainstorming ideas, prompting the person to think of ideas that might have never crossed his mind otherwise. The wonderful think about coming out with creative ideas is that you also have lots of laughs while you're doing it because you begin to think of wild, whacky and outrageously fun things.

This book is a great review to use before tests, but not substitute the text book. It has all of the main information from the AP Text, but not all of it. The only downfall I've seen so far is that the labs are not quite in as much detail as I would like.

The book was delivered on time, in great condition. This is a great review book for the AP BIO exam. It has very concise review information, followed by sample miltiple choices questions. It reviews each of the 12 required labs, also followed by review questions. Finally, it provides 2 sample tests for students to take and practice for the exam.

I used this book as a review for tests in my AP Biology class last year and found it to be somewhat lacking. I thought that it would be a good choice to read this when I didn't have time to read the Campbell textbook. BUT when I did do this, the tests covered WAY more. The Cliffs notes seem to just skim the top layer.
Also, I found the graphics to be extremely rough. I'm a visual learner and the diagrams were just convoluted and messy.
While there are several organized charts (i.e. hormonal glands), I would reccomend the student study quide for Biology. This is made by the makers of the Campbell textbook. Each chapter--each section--is outlined for you so that you can review the key topics.

This is the most thorough out of all the AP Biology study guides and I really liked the way it is organized. It has both multiple choice and essay questions at the end of each chapter. This is the best AP study guide for biology.

This author really has a handle on what to avoid eating, and tells about the foods you can eat all you want. A positive approach to better health by eating good and healthful food, not "going on a diet". Just get rid of all the bad stuff in your kitchen, add the good, and better health will happen.

If you are on the ABS PROGRAM you will love these recipes. They are so easy inexpensive and take usually less than a half hour from start to finish. I find shopping easier and ABsolutely love this book! I love the DVD too! The SMOOTHIES are yummy so if you need more ideas the tasty recipes in this book will help curb some of the cravings you will have!

The first part of this book is a repeat of the info contained in the Abs Diet book. The recipes are okay. There are a lot of smoothies, egg dishes, and various recipes for various meat dishes. I'd check the book out from your local library before I spent money on it.

O.K., the recipe's are not what you would find in your typical recipe book, but they're nutritious, filling, & pretty yummy- Not at all like a traditional diet book. This diet has elements of Atkins, but adds food that is forbidden in Atkins. High protein, high fiber, low carbs, low sugar. It's only been 2 days, but I already feel healthier. Don't look at the scale right away. Mine showed an immediate gain of 2 lbs., but this is real food, not diet food. It takes a while to be processed. I've done Atkins with the same initial experience. You should notice the initial difference in the looser feel of your clothes. 5 STARS!!!

Don't let the size of this book turn you away - this book has all the information you need to greatly improve your relationship with your dog. I highly recommend this book to anyone that has a difficult dog, but people with obedient dogs can benefit as well.

This book saved my relationship with my two "kids" - it is written in language that is very easy to understand and presents principles in a way that anyone can appreciate and practice. I enjoyed this practical little booklet, but it is twice as useful and entertaining if you read it aloud and substitute the word "man" [or a man's name] for the word "dog" [or a dog's name]. I gave it to my sister when she adopted one of my foster dogs, and we had a jolly and educational time reading it "both ways". Anything by Patricia McConnell is a "must-read" for those of us who love interaction with our dogs!

This set of books by Mager is well put together. These books offer a common sense approach to training and development. Included are how to design a program, realistic objectives, implimenting the program and then tracking the benefits of the training program. These books do not offer super-fancy techniques of teaching, what they do offer you are a set of basic approaches that will work in many different situations.
These books teach through humor and anecdotes as well as real-life stories that can help you place the possibly daunting task of training into a task that you can complete.

The book that these flash cards were based on, "A Whack on the Side of the Head" is great book on problem solving and creativity. These cards are not. Save your money or spend it on another book on the topic from another author, such as "Conceptual Blockbusting - A Guide to Better Ideas".
Not Nearly as Good as the Book.......2007-05-23
After reading the book "Whack", this deck of cards was VERY disappointing.
It wasn't a "companion deck" but another condensed version of the book whose ideas were not nearly as well thought out, as well explained or put into a demonstrative use. I was expecting that the deck would help facilitate the ideas from the book -- something that could be used in a group as a teaching tool or alone as a quick means of problem solving. Not so.
The book, however, is *very* worthwhile.

I've been a long time fan of the Creative Whack Pack. I recently got the Innovative Whack Pack, and have found it to be just as powerful in stimulating my creativity. I especially like the way it combines ancient wisdom with practical creativity techniques.
A Fun Companion to the Creative Whack Pack.......2003-10-22
I'm the creator of this deck, and I had fun putting it together. It's like the Creative Whack Pack in that it has provocative and useful strategies for looking at problems and issues in a fresh way. Also, George Willett has done the illustrations (just as he has done for all of my other products). It differs from the CWP in that the stories and examples are a little longer, and also that each card has a 2,500 year old innovation insight (from Heraclitus) on one side and a creativity strategy on the other. Thus, you can use either side to provoke your thinking. In case you're interested, my two favorite insights in the deck are: "The way up and the way down are one and the same," and, "A thing rests by changing." My favorite way of using the deck is to pick one card at random in the morning, and have it be one of my innovation thoughts of the day. If you enjoyed the Creative Whack Pack, I think you'll get a kick (and some ideas) from the Innovative Whack Pack.

This four poster pack is an excellent tool for a complete weekly dumbbell workout. The exercises are explained in detailed, well written steps, with a start position image and an end position image. I had no problem following any of the outlined steps.
The exercises are well organized on each of the four posters, and grouped into categories such as abdominals, back, biceps, chest, legs, etc...
I will likely buy more of the poster packs offered from this company in the future, as I consider them an excellent value for use in my home gym.

This is one book that I would like to keep with me all the time even after all my interest in Maths. is gone. For, it gives me food for thought and does not allow my mind to be dried of thoughts. This is a most fascinating book since the author, even when he gives hints at the solution, he does it in such an effective manner, that you have to really pursue a very thrilling chase of the solution. The challenge and thrill make it a pleasurable experience. I am sure this will be so for both the learner and the learned. Every mathematician should possess this book.

This book has a lot of topics that you see at a mathematical competition, like IMO. It has Number Theory, Geometry, Games, Combinatorics and many strategies to solve a difficult and exciting problem. I recommend this book for you.

I disagree with another reviewer(Math Messiah) who thinks this is a book only for intelligent people like himslf. The problems are wide ranging and numerous and even dumb people (me, for instance) can find fun and excitement in many of them. I also have an advice for the Math Messiah who is on brink of some major discoveries: hold on to that brink, and don't drop.
Excellent So Far.......2003-05-06
I have just started working on this book recently. I've been reading through and working on the problems in the number theory section which are excellent so far. There is a good balance between warm-up/basic training problems and hard contest problems so you won't be discouraged too easily. I have browsed through the other sections and they seem very good. Must have if you are preparing for math contests!

Delivery Date.......2007-02-14
When I first ordered this the delivery date said january 8th (order 12/28) when I checked again a few days later I was very upset to see that the date had changed to the 10th. I was on winter break and need this book for the 9th which was the day I was heading back to school. It ended up arriving even before the 8th which mad me very happy but I just wasn't happy about how amazon changes the dates all time. I know there isn't much they can do if it is in transit but if that is the case they should assume later dates instead of changing it everytime the date is approaching.

Lee Strobel may have been a self proclaimed Atheist, but he would be hard pressed to convince any logic based Atheist with his arguments. His sources are as biased as can be (all faith based believers). At best this book supports the argument that a man named Jesus, a leader of a revolutionary faith, existed. As far as the claim that he was in fact supernatural and the Son of God (whether claimed by Jesus himself or those next in line in authority), unfortunately there is no case. Cult leader after cult leader make such claims with successful fellowship. With the sanity of the leader necessarily in question, they may even believe it themselves and have the best of intentions making fellowship that much more effective. Mix that with the need of reform by a mass populous and there's little to stop it. And you can't overlook the fact that it becomes difficult to argue a case of Christ-hood when such supernatural events have not been witnessed by anyone since the time of such claims. Faith is the sole requirement for a reason. I would love to have read a book that was rock solid on the subject, but sadly it was full of holes.
Many people claim to be Atheists while being completely ignorant of what it means to be so. For example, some people claim to be Atheists because of a disagreement with their God. They are not Atheists. Lee Stroble reminds me of this group of people.

If you want to make this book available to a large group (like a Sunday School class), this is a cost effective way to do so. The font size is very readable, which is not always the case in books at this price range.

Apologetics with a personal and legal perspective. The crime stories and legal perspectives at the beginning of each chapter help the reader understand the sort of evidence that the author is discussing in that chapter. The six pack is a good value if you need several copies.
An excellent introduction to Christian Apologetics!.......2006-09-20
This book is an excellent introduction to Christian Apologetics. It presents some basic arguments in favor of Christianity in an easy to read and understand format. While I am sure he interviewed critics during his initial research that led to his conversion, he does not present them here because as the title says, his book presents the basic "Case for Christ". Strobel is not a theologian, and does not present himself as such. He does not delve deeply into philosophy or apologetics, but presents basic concepts and arguments for the layman. Highly recommended for those with a layman's interest in apologetics!

I had already read the book and wanted to buy several more to give away to friends. "The Case For Christ" is a wonderful, thought-provoking, intelligently written book by Lee Strobel, who is an investigative reporter, and decided to build a case for becoming a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. It's very readable and well researched from many different angles. I would recommend it for anyone who is seeking the answers to life's important questions about Jesus, The Christ.
