Best Children's Book.......2007-09-22
I absolutely love this book! Not only has my 4 year old and I laugh out loud together as we read this book almost nightly, I read it to MY friends. The capturing of bad kitty is perfect and the education of the alphabet is a winner for me as a parent. I was so excited yesterday to find Poor Puppy, the next book, that we purchased the book and read it as soon as we were in the car. Keep these books coming Nick, we love them!!!
More than just an ABC book . . . . .......2007-08-21
The story in this delightful telling of the tale of Bad Kitty makes you forget that this is an alphabet book. All of Kitty's misdeeds delighted my little grandchildren as we read it together. They thought all of Kitty's "yummy" treats were horrid (well, maybe not the shark sushi). After Kitty learned of all the yummy treats that had been brought home for her, she was truly pentitent and did her best to make amends for all the "bad, bad, bad" things she'd done. Children of all ages will relate to Kitty, because we've all had those days we just want to be bad, bad, bad . . . even though tomorrow we'll turn around and be "good, good, good."
My 4 year old loves this book.......2007-06-03
I picked this book from our local library one visit, thinking that my daughter would like the kitty and the different pictures. The first time I read it, she asked me to read it again...and again...and again. After a few times, she was able to "read" it herself by looking at the pictures and remembering what I had read. She read it over and over again during the time we had it checked out and was sad when we had to return it.
I was just now able to check it out again and she's thrilled to have her kitty book back. She's been reading it again and again.
I like that it goes through the alphabet 4 times, each time with a different word for each letter. She already knew her letters by the time we found this book, but reinforcement never hurts. She's now learning the different foods - the real healthy foods and the not-so-real kitty gourmet foods - and the various actions of the kitty. We loved all the different things the kitty did when she was mad, then all the things she did when she got food again. The author obviously knows kitties and has a sense of humor that appeals to the adults as well as the kids.
I'm putting this book on her birthday and Christmas lists for this year because I know this is a book that she'd like to have her own copy of.
Overlooked hillarious children's book.......2007-05-11
This book will have adults and children alike laughing at kitty and her alphabet scenarios. Highly commended! I have given this as a gift on several occasions and the recipients really love it.
great bad kitty.......2007-03-09
i bought this for my niece for her third birthday and it made an impression even through all the glitter of the princess party. this is a fun, fast, breathless trip through the alphabet.
Book Description
Not since Kliban has there been a cat book this edgy. Edgy as in Bosco, the demonic Siamese with the out-of-focus eyes, razor-sharp fangs, and his own idea of Feng Shui. Or the half-shaved freak named Mr. Fliegel, who looks like a cross between a poodle and a lion. Mr. Fliegel shrugs and says, "Chicks dig me." Or Kato, resplendent in his Three Musketeers outfit: "One for all, blah blah blah . . . now just get me out of this @#%&ing costume!" Or Clark, whose hobby is eating other cats' food. Tina, who somehow always just misses the litter box . . . sucker. And the guilty-looking Clarence, caught with a Barbie doll in flagrante delicto. Clarence's defiant defense: "She was naked when I came in. . . ."
Just as Kliban got us to think about the cat as something far more interesting than an innocuous house pet, and Suzy Becker taught us that cats possess a Buddha-like wisdom (together Cat and All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat have more than 2.6 million copies in print), Jim Edgar reveals yet another facet of the ever-mesmerizing animal. Brooding, deranged, antisocial, these are kitties with attitude and borderline personality problems--ah, but what hilarious fun it is to read about them. All 244 photographed in terrifying full color in their most unflattering moments, with a quote plus vital stats: name, breed, age, and hobby. Get to know them. Then see if you can ever forget them.

Bad Cat the book.......2007-09-16
Love this book! I got this as a gift because I really enjoyed the calendar.
Very funny!.......2007-08-13
I gave this book as a gift to a cat lover, and she can't stop talking about how much she really loves it! Lots of laughs!
Hilarious.......2007-07-11
As the human companion of two cats gone bad, I recognized WAAYYYY too many behaviors and expressions in this book. I've given it as a gift to other cat owners who also loved it. Also worth getting: the bad cats calendar. In this house, we're very hard pressed not to peek ahead (and if no one's looking, sometimes I do!).
Take it to the dentist!.......2007-07-08
Take this funny,handy-sized book with you when you have to sit somewhere in a waiting-room. It'll kill the time and relaxes your nerves. Even if you're not a cat lover, it will convince you that a cat (and its boss) has a mind if its own.
Hysterically funny - even if you love cats.......2007-06-30
I am a cat lover and owner (also own a small doglet.) I bought this calendar and keep it at work. My co-workers are used to hearing me laugh helplessly at least once a day. My advice: When things get rough at work - read the Bad Cats calendar!

Big Disappointment.......2007-10-02
Let me preface this by saying that I've been working with animals for about 10 years in varying capacities, including working as a sealion trainer, and I have done extensive reading of various training methods. In this book, I expected to find new ideas for training interesting games with my hyper dog. Instead, pretty much every training suggestion given in this book involved "jerking" the dog's leash if they didn't immediately comply with what was being asked. I have always worked with positive training methods, and continually yanking on my dog's throat just doesn't fall in with those methods. Because of their high energy, hyper dogs need even more patience to teach them productive and appropriate ways of using their energy, but instead of patience, the authors of this book recommend routinely punishing the dog for being hyper- exactly the dogs this book was written for.
Sadly, this book was a total waste of my money, and I really can't recommend it for anyone. Thankfully, my dogs won't be subjected to the discomfort suggested by the authors of this book.
Great for Rambo OR Couch Potato pooches.......2007-05-11
This manual is a great resource for any dog owner. It breaks down ideas into easy, understandable steps and will work if your dog has lots of energy or even if he/she doesn't. Great how-to photos and common sense manners training for a happy relationship with your best friend.
Excellent, Easy to Read and Follow, Awesome Info! Have a Hyper Dog? Read this Book.......2007-04-20
I just love this book. It's easy to follow, and they don't over complicate the wording so anyone can easily pull info from it. Gathering information is easy, because the topics are clearly labeled. They also have little exerts of helpful hints, which are very useful and easy to read. If you have a dog who you think is a bit hyper, this would be a great help. Especially if getting rid of your dog ever crosses your mind, because you don't feel you are giving the dog the stimulation it needs, or the dog is getting into mischief because it's not getting the stimulation it needs. It puts things into perspective on what a dog needs and what you need to do to give it to him. It teaches you how to train your dog and helps you to understand the way they think. It gives you great tips on traveling with your dog to, barking and baying to pulling on the lead. Some of the tricks they teach in this book are awesome and would impress the heck out of your friends. It even covers dogs with new babies, toddlers and children. The book is like one stop shopping for any kind of behavior problem. Definitely worth the read, there's so much info in it, many more topics than I have mentioned in this review.
Yet Another Excellent Book!.......2007-04-10
This book is great and comes as no surprise after reading Amy's other
books. Common sense, down-to-earth approaches by Amy and her experienced
trainers! You'll love this book even if you don't have a hyper dog!
Help your dog AND yourself!! Buy this book!.......2007-02-27
Amy Ammen's easy to follow tips have been life saving for our family.
This book is a great resource and can have your hyper pooch turned around in no time. Great photos, too!

Bad Kitty.......2007-07-15
This was a really really funny book. Unbelieveable, but funny. I seriously doubt that something like what happens to Jasmine would ever happen in real life, but that is what makes this so entertaining. Michelle Jaffe incorporated a sense of humor into a normally hopeless situation, and in the end we get a hilarious book that kept me hooked and reading until the end.
I loved this book. Especially the funny footnotes... those were the best. :D
Bad Kitty Book Review.......2007-04-25
I read the book Bad Kitty. This book is about a girl who goes on vacation with her new family. She gets caught up in a mystery, and won't rest until it is solved.
My favorite part of this book is when the man character, Jasmine, gets all the secret notes in her hotel room. Jasmine isn't sure who is sending her these notes though. She wants to find the person that is behind them all though. This is my favorite part of the book because as I was reading, I was trying to figure out who was sending the notes as well. I was getting caught up in the book, which is what i like to happen. That is why it is my favorite part of he book.
I would recomment this book. It has a very good mystery, with twists and turns around every corner. You get sucked into the book. There is a lot of suspence, and even when you think you know what will happen next, it changes and leaves you totally shocked. It was a really good book, and contaned a lot of action and drama.
BAD KITTY IS THE BEST!.......2007-02-09
Bad kitty is my favorite book!
It is about Jasmine Callihan, who is with her father on their end of the summer family vacation at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. She just wants to sunbathe, stay away from her Evil hench cousin Alyson, and Evil Hench Friend Veronique, and possibly get to know the cute guy at the Snack Hut. But when a three legged cat with very sharp claws attachs to her chest one day, she becomes caught up in a mystery that involves a celebrity scandal, a murder, and a overwhelming purple shag carpeted car, and with the arrival of her unique and funny friends Polly, Roxy and Tom, she is on her way to the answers, using her amazing detective skills.
Bad Kitty is a great read, and it had me and my friends laughing out loud several times! a great plot and funny characters make up this book, and i really recommend it! It is totally Mastercard, you have to read it!
Great Job, Michelle Jaffe! This book is definetely a keeper.
Courtesy of Teens Read Too.......2006-12-26
BAD KITTY is the story of Jasmine Callihan, amateur super sleuth and trouble magnet extraordinaire. While on vacation with her family in Las Vegas, all she wants to do is lounge around by the pool, check out the cute guy she saw at the snack hut, and, most of all, be a Model Daughter and prove to her dad that she can stay out of trouble. This lasts for all of about five minutes, until a little boy and his three-legged cat entangle her, "literally," in a murder mystery.
Add in a famous fashion model (who happens to be the little boy's mother), an intimidating bodyguard, an insane killer, threatening messages, limo rides, the Evil Hench Twins (Jas' cousin Alyson and her best friend, Veronique), and even jail time, and you have one crazy adventure. Not to mention that Jack, the cute snack hut guy that Jas can't seem to stop thinking about, may be more than he appears. Pretty soon Jas' best friends Roxy, Tom, and Polly also crash the vacation, bringing with them a handy Bedazzler and tons of hilarious ideas to aid (and hinder) Jas in her investigation.
BAD KITTY is a fantastic read, and one you might not want to read in public if you tend to laugh while reading. Footnotes sprinkled throughout every chapter act as conversations between Jas and her friends, correcting and adding to the story, and by the end of the book, Jas has come up with sixty hilarious "Little Life Lessons" that everyone should know. For example, "Little Life Lesson 12: If you have your cousin and her friend stand out the sunroof of your limo to give you navigational instructions, be sure that they aren't facing backward to wave at the cute guys in the Porsche behind you when they tell you to go left or right."
The characters are fun and entertaining, the plot hysterical, and you can't help but be swept along with Jas and her friends for the ride. This will definitely appeal to fans of authors like Meg Cabot and Louise Rennison, and for readers who are already fans of the book, Michele Jaffe is hard at work on the sequel.
So hurry to your nearest bookstore and pick up a copy of BAD KITTY. Believe me, it's totally Visa! (Oh, go read the book and you'll understand!)

Bad Kitty.......2006-11-02
Bad Kitty
If I told you that a three-legged cat named Crazy Joe landed on my chest and plunged me into a Las Vegas-style mystery, you might back away a couple of steps, and then take off without looking back. This is what happened to Jas in the story Bad Kitty, written by Michele Jaffe. Jas's had to solve a mystery, meet the hot guy next to the pool, and complete sixty "Little Life Lessons," all in her summer break! In her story, Jas tells of her experiences, has mini side notes from her friends, and speaks of how she solves this unpredictable mystery!
The story begins when Jas is sitting by the pool next to her hotel in Las Vegas. She is trying to reach into the "hot guy on the other side of the pool's" inner being. Then, suddenly, the mad cat Crazy Joe lands on her chest and Jas runs around in panic. In the process, she destroys a wedding and gets put in hotel jail. A little boy explains Jas's actions, and Jas gets set free. When Jas gets to her hotel room, she gets a mysterious note that warns her not to get involved with the mystery. Jas IMs her friends about this, and they come out to Las Vegas to help. Jas also goes to a party undercover, and finally solves the mystery. However, because she needs to reveal the truth, Jas's being threatened to be drowned in a lake with her friends... This book is great. It's full of suspense, mystery, and humorous to boot! Bad Kitty also has many main ideas, such as: we can all be superheroes; we all have our own special superpower; never think you have the correct answer in life; life is unpredictable; and true friends are always trustworthy. Jas once mentioned in her book, "I believe that everyone has their own superpower." She proves herself right in this humorous, unpredictable, mysterious and believable book. I would recommend this book to mystery and humor lovers. I would also say that this is a good book for people who love unpredictable things, and girls who are twelve years old and up because Bad Kitty is confusing and has some mild language. Last of all, I would recommend this book to people who adore suspense, mystery, the unknown, believe that there is such thing as a Super Girl, and people who don't believe that you will be in grave danger playing Barbie.
So, if you're in the mood for a Las Vegas-style mystery, then don't quit reading Bad Kitty when a three-legged cat named Crazy Joe lands on Jas's chest because you think that the story gets boring. I advise you to keep reading Bad Kitty, because Bad Kitty is a great story of mystery, suspense, and the true value of friendship.

Bad Kitties: Celebrating Good Times and Bad Behavior.......2007-09-17
Bad Kitties: Celebrating Good Times And Bad Behavior
Really cute pictures and text. Great gift for anyone who loves cats, or as a treat for yourself.
Aaawh.......2007-03-29
Darling bathroom book with precious photos. Didn't like a few of the quotes picked, but they fit the title. Great guest bathroom book.
Bad prices.......2006-02-18
Bad Kitties: Celebrating Good Times and Bad Behavior is another one of those petite gift books comprised entirely of cute photographs set to a random selection of appropriate quotes, and it should naturally be judged accordingly. As a kitty-lover, I naturally adore all kitty photos by default, but even I have to admit the selection is a little less cute than in other books. In addition, the quotes seem less appropriate, with only every other quote or so being truly memorable.
My main hesitation in getting the book was its price--nearly $15 at full cover charge! Most full-length novels by world famous authors don't net that kind of price-per-page cost. For a style of book that's simple to mass-produce, this is a bit unreasonable, although it's likely the fact the book is in full colour that's to blame. If you, like me, love these kinds of books but don't have the budget to fund their exorbitant price, I recommend finding a used copy or waiting until they go clearance at the book store.

Fantastic Kid's Book.......2000-04-04
I bought this a year ago for my son, then 2 1/2. He still loves this book, and often chooses it at bedtime. He used to love it for the pictures and pop-up gimmicks, and now he's getting into the humor. He even read his first word, 'Bad', off of the cover. We love this book!

Not as good as Blood Brothers.......2002-03-01
I would recommend this, if you are looking f/ a great history of the Menendez family. As in the Court details, this is a little sketchy.
Grab, the Blood Brothers w/it. It has a great detail on the court transcripts (at times you may feel like your reading a script).
Book Description
They're demented. Coy. Mysterious. Nasty. And altogether irresistible. Bad Cat, a #1 Book Sense and #4 New York Times bestseller with 252,000 copies in print through fine printings (in only three months) is now a calendar. Because you can never have enough.
Customer Reviews:
love it or hate it.......2007-01-27
I, too, have a warped sense of humor and thought this calendar was absolutely hysterical!
Terrible! Don't buy it!.......2006-11-03
The box looks like the calender is in color , but it is black and white. The jokes are not funny and the pictures are poor quality. Not only that , the cats aren't doing anything bad like the calender suggests. They are just regular house cat pictures doing practically nothing but sitting around with stupid captions below. This calender I would not recommend. I got it as a gift and was so disappointed I had to write a review right away to say Don't Buy It! This sucks
Sometimes, I laugh so hard I cry (and pee a little). .......2006-08-14
If you have a deep love for cats and have a warped sense of humor you will LOVE this calendar.
Hilarious - Who cares about the photo quality???.......2006-06-10
I saw this on a co-worker's desk and was mesmerized. It's outrageous and hilarious. The people who didn't like this calendar were apparently just looking for professional-quality "cute kitty pictures". You won't get those here. You'll get demented and sometimes NSFW humor. How much do I like it? Enough to buy this year's version when half the year is over already, because my co-worker didn't have the pages she already tore off her copy!
Bad Cat = Bad Humor.......2006-01-26
I have had cats myself for over 15 years, and right now have three very amusing ones at home. That said, this is one of the least funny calendars I have ever seen, and you'll get more entertainment staying at home and letting your cats OD on catnip, believe me. I do have the book, and thought it was cute, although mostly for the pictures rather than the banter. I did expect this to be in B & W because one-a-days rarely come in color, but many of the pictures are not particular funny, regular cat shots (i.e. a head shot of a basic cat), of terrible print quality, and the quotes are awful. Very stale and lacking any sort of wit. The people saying this is hilarious are probably the types that think that "Blue Collar TV" and fart jokes are the epitome of high humor. So if you like basic, straight-forward comedy, by all means, get this calendar. I like more substance to my humor, and if you do too, pass on this. Even "Cathy" cartoons are funnier than this. *Gasp*
