My daughters FAVORITE!.......2007-10-14
My daughter recieved this as a gift when she was about 6 months old, She is now 18 months old and still loves it more than ever! We travel A LOT! 15-20 hour plane rides 2 to 3 times a year, and this book was the best toy I could have possibly given her. When shes "reading" this book she is amused and quiet for hours on end!
Fun book with flaps.......2007-10-14
This lift the flap book is fun for my 13 month old grand daughter. I do have to help her be gentle with the flaps so she won't tear them, but she likes to look under the flaps and point out the belly button, eyes, etc.
The best!.......2007-10-08
This book has been my baby's favorite book from age 3 months to now (11 months)!
Great first book for baby.......2007-09-29
As mentioned by other reviewers, this is a flap book that teaches babies different body parts by playing "peek a boo" and hiding the babies' mouth, feet, belly button etc. This was the first book my baby ever focused on when he was around two months (I think it is due to the movement of the flaps and the bright pictures). At four months he still enjoys this book over most of his other books.
Bright and Colorful.......2007-09-17
I had never heard of Karen Katz until I came across this book last Christmas and decided to buy it as a gift for my then 9-month old son. One of the best decisions I've ever made. He loves it just as much now (almost a year later) as he did when I first got it for him. I have no idea why this book tickles him so much, but anything that keeps him happy an laughing is a permanent hit with me. We've since purchased more books by Karen Katz and he enjoys them all, but "Where Is Baby's Belly Button" is by far his all-time favorite!

good for separation anxiety stage.......2007-09-15
I first read this book when my daughter was 6 months old, she is 27months old now and still loves reading the book. we play act the book now, and she's full of laughs.
Fun book every time we read it!.......2007-07-19
This book is so cute as you peek a boo look for mommy on each page. What a cute and fun book the kids love this one everytime!
Oooooh, where is she?!!!.......2007-04-17
Toddlers will love this fun story. It has a hint of mystery as Baby searches for its Mommy. This is a unique way to teach kids the process of elimination as the illustrations rule out each place where Baby's Mommy is not hiding in anticipation of the exciting reunion between Baby and Mommy.
Excellent.......2006-11-11
Though my Son likes books of all kinds, he absolutely loves this and other Karen Katz lift-the-flap books. The illustrations are so simple, colorful and bright. After having read it a zillion times, he still is not tired of smiling everytime he finds mommy!
Where is Baby's Mommy?.......2006-08-07
My 20-month daughter absolutely loves this book. Lifting all the flaps and being suprised everytime to see what is behind them. Always when she finds the Mommy I say " There's mommy" she looks at me with her big brown eyes and says "NO" and points to me and says "Mommy". The book is absolutely ADORABLE.
Book Description
Extreme NXT: Extending the LEGO MIDSTORMS NXT to the Next Level is for intermediate-level users of NXT who would like to advance their capabilities by learning some of the basics of electronics. Plenty of examples are provided, and easy-to-follow instructions are included for building over 15 different sensors.
This makes a great reference for the NXT hardware interfaces. Examples even come complete with multiple, alternative NXT languages. The book is also abundant with illustrations.
Customer Reviews:
One of the Best Available!.......2007-07-06
Reviewer J. Doubek, said it best - "I bought this book to get a better idea of how to safely interface my own circuits to the Lego Mindstorms NXT. In my opinion, you can't find a better book for this purpose."
And that is very true! I cannot add much more to his review... This book is the 'Make' book for the NXT. The authors have explained everything so any builder of any age or skill level can understand the processes. It teaches several techniques that can be developed into viable career skills. Including soldering, electronics knowledge and usage, and handy-tech projects that will also get one's mind flowing with other ideas. If you are a 'Maker' or tinkerer or would like to learn some inside knowledge of the NXT and how to build outside of the box you will find no better starter book.
Grab it, read it, and use it to expand your NXT knowledge!

Excellent!.......2007-05-07
I bought this book to get a better idea of how to safely interface my own circuits to the Lego Mindstorms NXT. In my opinion, you can't find a better book for this purpose. "Extreme NXT" contains the pinouts and proper usage of the NXT motor and sensor ports. It also provides a large number of the most useful homebrew sensor implementations, right down to parts lists containing part numbers for common component suppliers like Digikey and Radio Shack.
My background is in engineering, with an emphasis in control systems. The first book I read in the field of hobbiest robotics was "Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation" (Jones and Flynn). In those days, the 6811's were king for these sorts of projects. I spent many a happy day with my MIT Handyboard (a simple 6811 robot controller board). Things have come a long way. Nowadays NXT is available, and this book is the modern day equivalent to that excellent text for those who want to dig in and find out what the NXT is capable of. The book is written in a format that is easy to understand for the novice, but also supplies plenty of content to allow the more advanced user to be able to push the NXT envelope. The organization is superb, commonly used charts and tables are easily found. I have been finding myself referring most often to the pinout tables for the NXT connectors, and these are very conveniently found towards the front of the book.
Chapters are broke down into sensor and output types, starting with the more basic and easily contructed passive sensors up to more advanced and expandable I2C sensors. Motor control, h-bridges, etc are also covered in detail. Both the construction of the circuits, and the NXT code to run them, are covered. Code is provided in it's most basic form first, NXT-G, which every NXT user will be familiar with. Examples proceed to more complex compilers, such as NBC, for sensors or circuits that are better suited to those implementations.
The appendix provides complete source code listings, useful websites and links categorized by chapter. There is also a great tutorial on prototyping with breadboards and perfboard for the uninitiated. With this book, any skill level in electronics should be enough to do some cool things with the NXT kit.
This book will become a very useful addition to any hobby robotics library. For me, it will be the goto book for designing circuits to safely interface to the Lego NXT. Highly recommended!
Book Description
This fantastic book tells the detailed history of pinball games from the 1930s to the 1990s, including the evolution of all sorts of game features--from flippers and bumpers to sound, scoring, and tilt mechanisms--all immersed in the complex and magnificent artwork characteristic of pinball machines. Pinball manufacturing giants like Gottlieb, Williams, and Bally are well represented, in addition to several lesser-known and foreign manufacturers. With a listing of over 3,000 games built to date, statistics, updated pricing information, and over 900 color photographs (including close-ups, flyers, images of rare prototypes, and games never before seen in print), this is essential for the libraries of all pinball lovers. The pinball machine is here to stay--due in part to the exponential increase in the number of serious collectors and enthusiasts. What other modern amusement machine can boast a longevity of over 60 years, withstanding the test of time and ever-changing technology, while maintaining its instantly recognizable form? The rolling, bouncing silver ball, as unpredictable as the flip of a coin or even life itself, has kept up with cutting-edge advancements in electronics, mechanics, and even computers, to amuse and test the skill of players worldwide!
Customer Reviews:
Pretty good.......2007-01-12
Certainly informative about most pinball machines. My gripe is with a book this big and thick, I should not have been able to find a number of machines not included. Not just any pictures, but no mention what-so-ever. I must say though I was educated much further about pinball machine operations then I was ever aware of prior to looking at this book. Just a little disappointed that some of my favorite machines had no mention. I am a 60's 70's pinball machine lover.
Great Pinball book with high quality pictures.......2006-02-25
You can't go wrong picking this one up. A must for any pinball enthusiast or beginner.
A Must Have For A Pinhead.......2005-10-01
This is a wonderful work of Pinball Book Art. I checked out this book from my local library and it is a must have. The book is heavy and very well made. The photos are very detailed as well. The book takes a certain aspect of the game such as scoring and breaks that parts of the game down, while the next chapter may focus on pinball sound. The book has so much information in it about history, features, and rare pinball features. A book of this size is bound to have a few mistakes and this book has a few small mistakes, but those are very minor and this is a very detailed work and there is no way one man can know it all about pinball. If you enjoy the game of pinball, you need to check out this book. It will not show you how to repair or maintain the game, its focus is history about the game and its evolution over time. I hope you enjoy this book and also keep enjoying playing the wonderful game of pinball.
Casi igual que jugar una partida de pinball.......2005-09-07
Muy buen libro sobre pinball. He recordado aquellos pinballs con los que empezé a jugar a principio de los 70.
A wonderful captivating coffee table book.......2004-12-30
This book is a vibrant timepiece capturing the colorful history of a unique product of the 20th century. When you think about it, when is the last time you *saw* a pinball machine? This book has captured, in both close-up and distant pictures, the colors, lights, and complexity of how these machines work and function. Family and friends--even those who've never seen a pinball--will pull this book out and start browsing in a mesmorized fashion. My only complaint is that the book is somewhat dated as it's from 1999 and doesn't reference the closing of Williams/Bally's pinball division and the great games recently issued by the sole remaining manufactuer, Stern.
However, it very thoroughly shows the evolution of a silver ball falling through assorted pins on a wooden board to the electronic technology of today with plastic ramps, magnets, and flippers. Just facinating to read and look at. If only it had sounds!

Not that great.......2007-06-12
I love minis, so I buy D&D minis, but I prefer metal to plastic. I also hate that you can't just buy the ones you want. Wizards of the Coast makes you buy a sealed box and you can hope to get something nice. Usually the best ones are rare. Still a couple of boxes is cheap overall and gives you some cannon fodder.
Product Description
Scholastic Books and Taggies, Inc. have joined together to create this finely crafted soft cover book entitled "My First Taggies® Book: Sweet Dreams". A soft fleece cover and beautifully embroidered interior spreads offer a unique opportunity for learning while snuggling! Featuring our Taggie tags that kids love to play with! This is already one of the UK's most popular soft books and it even washes clean! Measures 15cm square.
Amazon.com
Modeled after the popular Taggies baby blankets, My First Taggies Book is a soft fleece picture book with eight different looped ribbon tags to rub and pull and chew. The content of the book is very simple: three two-page spreads featuring a plush kitty, bunny, and puppy, along with accompanying rhymes. "Sweet dreams, little kitty,/ Rock-a-bye and nighty night." The point here is not the plot line, but the delightfully cuddly feel of the book and the interactive tags. Designed to be tactile and visually stimulating, each tag has a different print or texture, much like the satin edges of blankets or clothing labels that so intrigue babies and toddlers. A gentle and safe way to introduce the very youngest "readers" to the world of books. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter
Customer Reviews:
NIce book........2007-10-12
I thought this would be a great book but was disapointed. The tags don't have any texture on them so my sone doesn't really care about it.
Baby Loves Taggies Book.......2006-11-10
My six-month-old loves her Taggies Book. (She received it when she was four months old.) Now, she likes to hold it and rub the tags. It is perfect size to lay across her lap while she is in her car seat. Very nice.
My son loves those little tags.......2006-11-04
When my son first got the book, he was absolutely fascinated with the tags. He also loves to feel the velvety pictures. And it's also one of the first books I began reading to him.
Perfect for bedtime.......2005-08-25
This is a wonderful book that my nine-month-old has enjoyed since we received it as a gift when he was 2 months old. I don't understand the other reviews that say "it isn't much of a story". "Sweet Dreams", as the title implies, is a bedtime book. And it is perfect for that. Short, simple, engaging but not exciting, it is oh-so-soft and very comforting. My son loves it. He touches each animal ("kitty", "bunny", & "puppy") as we read, and I even stroke his face with the book once at the end as a final soother. It is the second of the two books we read at bedtime, the first being Baby Animals, which is a more active "Tough & Feel" book, but a good transition from active to night-night. I highly recommend Sweet Dreams for anyone looking for a comforting quiet book for bedtime reading with their baby. At nine-months, he seems far from outgrowing it; we will enjoy this book for some time to come.
An update at 13 months: still a wonderful way to go to bed. He can be teething or excited or anything other than sleepy. But when we start this book, he settles right down and gets snuggly and sleepy. After all, kitty, bunny and puppy are asleep in their beds, so it must be a good idea!
A perfect gift for your newest adopted family member.......2005-04-04
I think this is a perfect gift for any baby shower or new addition to your family. Especially for those who are adopting a child International like we did. We wheren't sure how much stimulation our daughter received in her Social Welfare Institute in China and so we brought this colorful book along. The book is a soft flannel and each tag is has a different color and texture and what child doesn't like tags of any sort. If you find this book in the book store or sometimes in a gift shop you can choose the colored tags and textures, for each one is different.
As a reading book, this is not and I am not really sure that's what this book was intended to be. I think this book is for stimulation of your babies sences. Can't say enough about this book and the taggie blanket, you just can't go wrong bringing to a baby shower on as one of the items packed in your already full bag on your way to be united with your daughters and or sons!
Book Description
Blue 2 is a beautiful cacophony delighting everyone! From a to z each letter gives a clue to where the Blue 2 is hidden in each of these spectacular pop-up sculptures. There's a glistening Blue 2, a slippery Blue 2, and even a suspended Blue 2. With gleeful helixes, jubilant kookiness, and mobile nonsense, each page will stun with its paper pop-up phenomenon. This sequel to One Red Dot is surely one to treasure.
Customer Reviews:
A 2nd (!) great book by Carter.......2007-10-03
Like "One Red Dot," this is a marvelous book. The three-dimensional creations are a wonder and the book is a fantastic gift for people of all ages.. children learning to love books, artists, teachers and adults who have an appreciation for detail. Last but not last, the book is great fun!
Not as good as Red Dot...but still cool.......2007-08-31
I think my title says it all. I bought this book because my kids and I absolutely loved the Red Dot book. We certainly enjoyed the Blue 2, but it was a bit harder for the kids (5 & 7) and they lost interest early. If you are buying this book for an adult - I think you shouldn't hesitate. You will love the ingenuity of the pop-ups.
Good for kids; great for adults.......2007-05-13
A beautiful, amazing book that will be appreciated by adults probably more than kids.
A Fitting Sequel.......2007-05-13
Who would have thought that One Red Dot could be equalled? Well, guess what? This is, once again, adorable and fanciful and mesmerizing. Even if we had to labor a long time to find the 2 on the very first page.
Fantastic book.......2007-01-12
I love this book! All of my kids, aged 5 - 11 enjoyed trying to find the "Blue 2" they make it just challenging enough, but not too hard. The pages were really interesting. Great purchase
Amazon.com
"This book is not a book about a toy. It is a book about an idea, a set of values, and a long-term commitment to empowering children to use their creativity and build their imagination."
So states Lego Group president Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen in his introduction to this fascinating, visually exciting tribute to Lego bricks and the people who play with them. Lego "maniacs" are no mere invention of Lego Group's industrious marketing machine. Enthusiastic fans of the ingeniously designed, colorful plastic building blocks do indeed exist, and in vast numbers--as of 1996, an estimated 300 million children and adults had played with Lego bricks since the first one rolled off the presses in 1949. (How many yellow knob-headed Lego people populate the earth today? A cool 2.3 billion.)
The visual wizards at Dorling Kindersley have labored together with the staff at Lego to assemble a hefty, photo-rich book essential to the library of any maniac (or maniac emeritus). The Ultimate Lego Book recounts the company's early history as a one-man operation back in the 1930s and subsequent creation of its first plastic "automatic binding brick," to the contemporary construction of myriad Legoland theme parks.
Trivia buffs will appreciate the playful but detailed graphic time line (first Lego window, 1957; first wheel, 1962; first dolphin, 1995). Everyone will love the pages of imagination-stretching constructions, from the small but clever (an unmistakable Elvis, complete with pompadour) to the overwhelmingly detailed (a meticulous model of Grand Central Station) to the downright strange (a life-size space helmet with visor and gas mask). The Lego universe includes a Mona Lisa replica, a 10,500-piece pelican, and even a yellow submarine. Enjoy! (Ages 6 to 106) --Paul Hughes
Book Description
Discover the LEGO Universe! This unique book brings DK style to the world of LEGO, one of the world's best-selling toys. It presents amazing LEGO sculptures -- from life-size dinosaurs, to a time machine, to Einstein's head, more than 15 feet tall. It features stunning original photography from LEGO model-making centers, as well as the LEGO Group's archives, parks, and competitions. It also inventively introduces children to some of the greatest cities in the world -- in LEGO form.

Lego Book.......2007-05-08
I enjoying reading this book and looking to make other things with the helpful ideas in this book.
Creative and Interesting.......2007-02-20
This book is an ultimate hit. The history of the Lego is described and then creations that fit every category are shown. Some of the hints on how to build things are really helpful.
This book IS for anyone who likes Lego's.
Ultimate Lego Book.......2007-01-15
I have 3 boys who all clamor to look at this book. They all love legos and this book has great pictures and inspiration. It's a must for any avid lego fan.
Stars in his eyes.......2007-01-10
We bought this book as a Christmas gift for our 10-year-old nephew [in combination with Lego Crazy Action Contraptions: A Lego Inventions Book (Klutz)]. His eyes were as big and round as Christmas-tree ornaments as he flipped through the books and saw the myriad wonderful things he could build with his treasured blocks. And, with two huge tubs of Lego pieces already in his possession, we figured he didn't need yet another set of Legos... but perhaps something nifty to build with them all. This fills the bill nicely!
For all ages!.......2007-01-10
I purchased this for my seven-year old, yet my 20-year old enjoyed it just as much! Great pictures!

Nina Laden's illustrations in this simple, rhyming board book are truly magical. The format is straightforward: on alternating two-page spreads, the words "Peek a" are repeated, opposite an illustrated page with a die-cut hole, behind which lurks a cow ("MOO!"), a green ghost ("BOO!"), and a mirror (you guessed it, "YOU!"). The youngest readers will delight in trying to guess who--or what--is peeking through the window, and can easily grip the baby-fist-size holes to turn the pages for the answers. The picture of the "ZOO!" is fabulous. Through the hole, all that can be seen is a wild pattern of colors, stripes, and spots. Turn the page, and find a wild kingdom of animals, one in front of the other: peacock, zebra, penguin, cheetah, elephant, and more. Ready for more peekaboo fun? Try Nina Laden's Ready, Set, Go! . (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter

Great for one-year-olds, according to my grand-nieces!.......2007-09-15
My grand-nieces, who just turned one year old, were fascinated with this book as soon as I gave it to them. That's the best reward I could have gotten!
Great board book for infants and their parents.......2007-08-31
My son has loved this book since we gave it to him at about 5 months old. He's now 7 months and in the "grab and eat everything" phase, but still settles down and studies the pictures in Peek-a-Who when we read it to him. I've already ordered several more for baby shower gifts. And just like some other reviews state, it's nice and short.
Her Favorite.......2007-08-15
This is my little girls favorite book. Sometimes we read it a few times at a time.
love it!.......2007-07-30
This is one of the best board books I have ever come across. My daughter received this as a gift at 5 months old. She loved it then and she STILL loves it (she's 9 months now). She will sit and look at it for long periods of time. It's also easy enough for my 3yo to read so he will sit and read it to my daughter. :)
TERRIFIC BOOK!!.......2007-07-15
MY kids LOVE this book. After reading it once, my 16 month old son could finish the sentences for me! I recommend this book for ANYONE with babies/toddlers. I have 1 y/o twins. One is a reader and one is a non-reader. Even my non-reader loves these books. Anything by Nina Laden will do!!

Customer Reviews:
Excellent resource book.......2002-10-17
I collect toys. A friend gave me this book as a gift. It is an excellent resource for anyone starting to collect toys or someone that has been doing it for a long time. I applaud the authors for making this available. The history of the company was also quite good.
Everything you want to know about Fisher-Price toys.......2002-10-08
If you are at all interested in collecting Fisher-Price toys or simply want some interesting background about the toys you grew up with -- then you'll like this book.
It is by far the most thorough book I've found related to Fisher-Price. It has a complete company history, product catalog and price guide for all the toys made by Fisher-Price (and even some never released).
I am a novice toy collector and bought this book because I've always loved my FP toys. I found every toy I've ever had (or at least can remember) in the book along with some amazing facts about them. Unfortunately, I learned that my Jalopy prized #724 Jolly Jalopy is probably not worth more than...
The authors were obsessive in their attention to detail, pointing out all the nuances that make certain products more valuable than others and providing a detailed history of the company and how some of their favorite toys were born.
My only disappointment was that the book is not available in hard cover.
Have fun!

I enjoyed this book because of the great photos and details. As a toy lover and collector, I can appreciate the authors' memories of collecting and the interesting facts about Fisher-Price. It's a great portable reference to take with you to garage sales or flea markets! The colorful pages and concise information make the world of Fisher-Price toys come alive. It's been a wonderful edition to my library.
EXCELLENT.......2002-08-27
AS A PAST COLLECTOR OF FISHER PRICE TOYS (15+ YEARS)---
EXPERIENCE SAYS - THIS IS AN ACCURATE PRICE GUIDE ALONG WITH A VERY INTERESTING APPRAISAL OF FISHER PRICE (THE COMPANY).
THE INQUISITION OF TOY VALUE COMBINED WITH DAINTY PHOTOGRAPHY GIVE THIS PUBLICATION HIGH MARKS IN MY EYES.
THE AUTHORS BRING A DISTINGUISHING MARK OF AUTHORITY TO FISHER PRICE AND ITS PRODUCT LINE'S....I WISH THIS MATERIAL WAS AVAILABLE AT THE PEAK OF MY COLLECTING..
VERY NICE JOB.....................
